Comfortably Numb

After many hugs, kisses and a lot of best wishes we are almost ready to go. We have had our second round of vaccines. Our sea container is packed and awaiting our import permit. Everything is almost packed in our luggage. Just the few essentials left needed for the coming days.
Everyone says, it is coming up fast, you must be nervous or excited, etc. I think I am comfortably numb. That is a good thing. Comfortable is a good feeling. I am comfortable with where we are going. Our home is waiting for us and I am excited to show the girls. Numb is no feeling at all. That is what I am forcing myself to be, or I would think about the next two years and cry every time someone says good bye. So numb it is for now until we are comfortable in our new surrounding. Or at least until I am in our new home, kids sleeping and me drinking some wine. Then I can cry, probably just tears of joy and relief.

Ow Ow Vaccines

On Tuesday June 28th my sisters and I with my mom went to get our vaccines. My Mommy forgot our vaccine cards. So we had to go all the way back home and get them. Finally we got to the travel clinic. The drive was very long, I was very tired when we got there. We got to go on a glass elevator it was so fun we got to see us going up. When we got in we had to wait for at least 5 min. So me and my sisters played tic tac toe. I won most of the time. After that we were called. I was a little afraid. Jill went first, "phew" that was a relief. Then Carly, then meeeee I screamed as loud as I could, I tugged as hard as I could, but they did it anyway  OW OW OW! Then we went to Pizza Pizza for lunch. My arm was still sore, but I went to school.

Take it or Leave it?

Today is sea container packing day!  I am stressed and relaxed at the same time and I don't know what to do with myself. It is better for getting through customs if the movers pack everything. So I tried to arrange everything in piles in each room. Found a pot and two glasses in my dishwasher I wanted to  send along, just as the packer was about to finish packing the kitchen.

We kept one pot, spatula, cutlery, plastic plates, bowls and cups. Our summer clothes and a towel each should do the trick for the next week and a half. It was kind of like packing for a two week vacation and the rest got packed away for a long time.

As the truck was being loaded I still didn't know what to feel. It is weird, not really knowing what to expect for the next month or two.

The house is kind of empty. A few things are still hanging around. I think we need a garage sale.  I just don't have the time or energy to take one of my last two Saturday mornings to do it. Into storage(our basement) it goes and we will deal with it when we come back.

Everything is packed and gone. Hopefully it will meet us in China not too long after we arrive.

Build A Bear

With 30 sleeps to go, our dear friends Nana Driever and Aunty Kim brought the girls to Build A Bear to build a special friend to bring to China. We all had a great time. The girls were a little crazy at times, but who could blame them, they were excited.

Jill was confused at first. She kept trying to take the bear off the shelf. She didn't want the unstuffed one. After explaining to her that she got to stuff her bear she was better.

Introducing Stary (Alexis), Cinderella (Carly) & Alala (Jill) to our family.

Each Bear got a back pack to wear
and one to go in.

They spent a lot of time warming the bear's hearts and giving them lots of kisses to take to China. As you can see in Alexis' hand the bears even got Pawsports. Now they just need a Chinese Visa.
Thank you Nana & Aunty Kim!
